COMMUNITY CAUSES

Social responsibility is a core pillar of our business. We work with local community groups to give back to our neighbors in meaningful ways. We work with the following organizations and are always open to new ideas.

INTERGALACTIC BAKERS FEDERATION

Through their involvement with the Louis Lesaffre Cups and the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, Solveig Tofte and Pierre Zimmermann (the founders) know that great things happen when bakers from different walks of life get together – we learn new techniques and new products, we see challenges and opportunities in different lights, and we are inspired to be useful to our communities through education and volunteer work.

The IBF is in a great position to mobilize a bunch of generous bakers to share their time and resources with those who might find them useful.

MACARON DAY CHICAGO

Need a good excuse to taste some exquisite pastries? Celebrate the first day of spring, March 20, with bakeries and pastry shops around Chicago by sampling their delicious macarons! A few businesses join forces and macaron making for a good cause: to benefit Esperanza Community Services.

Inspired by similar festivities in Paris and New York, and initiated by head chef and owner of La Fournette, Pierre Zimmermann, all may partake in the tasting while also making a contribution to Esperanza Community Services, a nonprofit organization in Chicago benefiting children and adults with developmental disabilities. The participating businesses allow macaron gourmands to sample one macaron for a donation to Esperanza.
